         Scott Barbour, M.D.

        Scott Barbour, M.D. is the founder and owner of Barbour Orthopaedics with 5 clinics and a surgery center in Atlanta, Georgia. 


      He specializes in sports medicine, joint replacement, arthroscopy, trauma, spine, and shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, foot, and ankle surgeries. Dr. Barbour utilizes stem cell and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections and is a pioneer in hip arthroscopy. 


       Dr. Barbour is fellowship-trained in sports medicine (Palo Alto medical foundation). He was a 1988 collegiate All-American rugby Player and captain of the National Champion UC Berkeley rugby team. Dr. Barbour has worked with professional sports teams including the Oakland Raiders, San Jose Sharks and USA Rugby Teams and still treats many professional athletes today. He is currently the team physician for the Atlanta franchise of Major League Rugby. 


        Dr. Barbour has also been a contributing health expert for major news outlets, as well as numerous other radio and television shows. He has published articles and book chapters on Orthopaedic surgery and has been an editor for American Journal of Sports Medicine. He is the current co-host of “The Doctor’s Lounge” podcast.
